– Steve Ovirih.

Governor Akeredolu’s running mate in the October 10th Governorship election in Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has highlighted the major achievement of the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu that qualifies him for a hitch free second term in office. Mr. Aiyedatiwa who played host to the thepolity.net at his Alagbaka residence in Akure on Sunday, the 9th of August said, more than his predecessors, Governor Akeredolu’s giant stride in giving Ondo State a facelift is conspicuous for all the good people of Ondo State to see.

Prior to fielding questions from the Polity.net, Mr. Aiyedatiwa had earlier had a closed door meeting with Prof. Adedayo Faduyile, the leader of the PDF structure of APC in Ondo State and another prominent member of the PDF structure, Hon. Adejare Adeyefa. Prof Faduyile in company with Hon Adeyefa had come on a congratulatory visit to Mr. Aiyedatiwa over his announcement as Gov. Akeredolu’s running mate.

In the exclusive media chat with thepolity.net, Aiyedatiwa said Governor Akeredolu has indicated with his development policy for Ondo south that the district is recognised and appreciated as the cash cow of Ondo State. He said in as much as Governor Akeredolu is not going to start the business of governance afresh post October 10th , 2020, after he would have emerged the winner of the Guber poll, the effort of the Government at developing Ondo south, nay other districts of Ondo State is going to be a continuous project.

He said in the Southern senatorial district for example, Governor Akeredolu has activated innumerable business projects that will plough back gains not just for the government of Ondo State but also for the citizenry in terms of job vacancies and reliable government presence. He said at Irele, the Western Nigeria Bitumen Company ( WNBC) has commenced exploitation of Bitumen in commercial quantity, noting that while previous government had it in their plan, Governor Akeredolu went beyond mere documentation and proposal to actualisation of the Bitumen exploitation business profile and this his humble step is a big dream come true for the once seemingly difficult exploration of Bitumen in Nigeria. While congratulating Gov. Akeredolu for activating all the necessary steps towards exploration and exploitation of Bitumen in Ondo State.
The former Representative of Ondo State on the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) said Gov. Akeredolu has a Development policy that will open up the waterways of Ondo State through the Deep sea project in Ilaje, adding that with the Deep sea drive, maritime business will spring up in Ondo State and there is no telling how this will boost the state revenue. He added that the Ilaje Deep Sea outlet will bring economies of scale and localization of industry to the southern senatorial district and this will open up the district to big business.

As regards road construction, Mr. Aiyedatiwa said Gov. Akeredolu scored far better than pass mark , noting that road construction work of this administration has touched every nooks and crannies of Ondo State. He said Gov. Akeredolu made history by gifting Ondo State it’s first flyover bridge at Ore and this has ended the Carnage that had already become an eyesore on the Ore / Benin Expressway.

Aiyedatiwa said Governor Akeredolu’s leadership magic wand has done wonders at Ore as he has introduced the Ore industrial hub with so many firms and industries springing up there.

Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa said the overwhelming vote support given to Gov. Akeredolu during the party’s Primaries is a total vote of confidence on his candidacy by party stalwarts, noting that it is a glaring indication of where the pendulum will swing come October 10th when the good people of Ondo State shall collectively use their vote to indicate their approval for the continuity of the Gov. Akeredolu’s leadership quality as Ondo State government.

While advising the people of Ondo State, the Deputy Governorship candidate of APC and Gov. Akeredolu’e running mate, Mr. Aiyedatiwa said voters should eschew violence and should keep date with the Akeredolu /Aiyedatiwa ticket in the October 10th poll. He said Ondo State is under the firm grip of the progressives and the people should not allow those who do not mean well for Ondo State to pull the wool over their faces as the Governorship election approaches.
