Ondo State Government distributes palliatives in Okitipupa.

In fulfillment of its commitment to ensuring that the fuel subsidy palliatives reach the vulnerable in the grassroots communities across Ondo State, the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led government of Ondo state has taken the palliatives distribution train to Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area, today, Saturday, the 16th September, 2023.

It will be recalled that Federal Government allocated resources to the 36 states of the federation to cushion the biting effect of the fuel subsidy removal which has eventually led to the pump price of fuel jerk up to N580 Naira per litter, causing an increase in cost of living among Nigerians.

To reduce the harship, Ondo State Government having gotten its tranche of the Federal Government Palliative fund had set up a high powered committee to reach out to the masses of the state with the mandate of ensuring the palliatives are evenly distributed.

Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, the Special Adviser to Ondo State Governor on Health, who led the palliative distribution team , while addressing a horde of the people of Okitipupa at the distribution venue, thanked Governor Akeredolu for insisting that only the vulnerable people who needed the palliatives must be availed the patronage, adding that The Governor equally acknowledged the challenges the subsidy removal has caused among the citizenry.

Prof. Faduyile tasked the people of the state to be patient with the APC led federal government of Bola Tinubu, adding that the challenges of the subsidy removal is being attended to by government. He equally called for the support of the people for Governor Akeredolu , whom he described as committed to the welfare of Ondo state people.

Among the palliatives distributed in Okitipupa were 90 bags of rice for each wards making up Okitipupa Local government.

Among the members of the Palliative Committee for Okitipupa were Princess Oladunni Odu, Ondo State SSG, Pastor Femi Agagu, Commisioner for Education , Science and Technology,Hon. Ololade Gnegudu, Hon. Chris Ayebusiwa and Hon.Igbekele Akinrinwa.

Others are Hon. Bode Ikulala, Dr. Peter Akinyelure, Alh. Kamardeen Bagudu,, Pastor Mathew, Chief Jonson Ikuejamuwa, Chief Mrs. Akinnagbe and many more.
