By Steve Ovirih.

Prof. Dayo Faduyile , OON, has greeted Nigerian Muslims on the celebration of the feast of breaking the Ramadan fast, Eid Fitri.

The Eid celebration was announced after the siting of the moon yesterday.

Prof. Faduyile in a statement to felicitate the Muslim faithful noted that the 30 – day fasting is a sacrifice of self denial and sustained prayers by the faithful.

He said Allah in his benevolence has continued to keep Nigeria together as one indivisible nation, charging the faithful not to relent in their prayers for the nation.

Prof. Faduyile added that no matter how good or how bad the situation of things are in Nigeria, it still requires fervent prayer of believers , stressing that everyone acknowledges the impact of prayers of the faithful across religion faith in the country.

Prof. Faduyile who noted that Ramadan fasting calls attention to compassion, alms giving, ablution and steadfastness in the ways of Allah, indicated that all these lessons should be indulged even now that the fasting period is over, noting that when we show love for one another we won’t see ourselves as people of different tribes but as a member of the Commonwealth of an indivisible nation.
