Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa is Dead

Yoruba leader, Afenifere stalwart and Alliance for Democracy arrow head, Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa has died. His demise was announced by his daughter, who noted that the Senator passed on after a brief illness at a private hospital in Ibadan , Oyo state capital.

Late Senator Akinfenwa, a teacher by career and a Principal joined politics at a tender age and was in the Progressive league which had at its center Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

He became Commissioner for Education under the administration of Chief Bola Ige in the old Oyo state, where he made his Mark in ensuring quality educational delivery across the length and breadth of the old Oyo state, covering present day Osun state.

He was active in the politics of the third republic and in 1999, he was elected senator of the federal republic under the flagship of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa was a church leader and a patron of the Sides men and Ladies of the St John’s Cathedral, Iloro , Ilesa in his life time.

Akinfenwa was a strong ally of the second republic Governor of Oyo state, Chief Bola Ige.
