We are not second class citizens – Gov. Wike.

– Steve Ovirih.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike has declared that the people of Southern Nigeria are not second class citizens and shall not allow themselves to be treated as such.

The Governor told newsmen in Port Harcourt , Rivers State capital early this week that the decision of the Governors of South West to ban open grazing is a collective resolve of Chief Executives of the Southern states wwho were voted by the people of the states, adding that the Governors have the mandate of their people to protect them within the limits of the law.

Gov. Wike noted that the pronounced gesture of the Northern hegemony to treat the people of the South as second class citizens can only scale through if the people of the South allow the complex to get to them.

He said Rivers State Government has already activated the machinery to ensure the success of the ban on open grazing in Rivers.
