Nigeria is hampering the development of Igbos – Senator Murray Bruce.

– Steve Ovirih.

Former Bayelsa Senator and Showbusiness impresario , Chairman Silverbird TV, Senator Ben Murray Bruce has advised the Federal Government to give the Igbo people of Eastern Nigeria the opportunity to grow at their preferred pace within the Nigerian nation state or allow them to go as they have shown such agitation for technological advancement without Government imposed bottlenecks and challenges.

Murray Bruce gave this advice in a media chat where he noted that Igbos are lamenting undue discrimination and denials , a development he noted had drawn back their growth and desire to be on the same pedestal with other technologically developed international communities.

Going down memory lane, Senator Bruce said when Nigeria engaged the Igbos in the 1967 to 1970 civil war, the latter produced their own weapon and ammunition by themselves and if at all they reached out to other nations for arms support, they still produced locally made weapon of warfare which they used to drive and sustain the warfare, adding that Nigeria did not produce a single weapon and up till date has been looking towards arms and ammunition supplies from Europe and America.

He said what is agonizing the Igbo nation is that if they are allowed the tactical and logistic support, they are willing to deploy their God given talents to develop their region and turn it to a hub of industrial growth flowing with convincing and sprawling business enterprises and factories .

The Igbos have what it takes to turn their region to industrial eyebrow region that every other part of the world will need their commodities and products, but Nigeria is not providing the enabling environment for them to grow, Senator Bruce noted.
