The Regent of Ayeka Kingdom , Her Royal Highess, Princess Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa has penned a flowing tribute and expressed her condolences over the death of Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN ,CON, who died in Germany on Wednesday. In her condolences, which was expressly detailed to the press from her vacation base in London, United Kingdom, a copy of which was obtained by thepolity.net, the Ayeka Regent described the Chancellor of the Anglican Communion, Diocese of Owo and former National President, Nigeria Bar Association ( NBA) as a very successful gift of an all round excellence from Owo to the world. She said Gov. Akeredolu was a staunch believer in the unity, progress and security of the Yoruba people of the Southwest Nigeria as seen in how he vocally championed the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria ( DAWN) which eventually gave rise to the regional security structure of The Amotekun Corps, a security apparatus which eventually checkmated the marauding influence of the insurgents in the region.
The wife of Gen. Olu Bajowa ( Rtd) equally noted that Akeredolu radiated the polished version of ‘ the Omoluabi’ ethos and this stood him out both in his leadership as the President of Nigeria Bar Association and as two term Executive Governor of Ondo State, noting that he did not chicken out when he lost the bid to govern Ondo State because of his avowed determination to govern and upp the ante of Development in the Sunshine state, which subsequently paid off in his second attempt at the gubernatorial election, which eventually returned him to Alagbaka as the State Chief Executive.
The Regent saluted the commitment of Gov. Akeredolu to fast tracking the growth of the Sunshine state as seen in his ‘ Redeemed Agenda’, which giant stride saw Ondo South getting the license for the Seaport , one of the glowing highlights of his administration’s achievement.
The Regent noted with fond memory that at the commissioning of the Bajowa’s electronic broadcast media project ‘ Awawa 94.1 FM ‘ Ayeka , Governor Akeredolu and his Exco members were physically present to share in the joy of launching of the Radio Station, stressing that Arakunrin Akeredolu in his life time was a lover of good things, lover of Development and was a very ‘ good son’ to her husband Gen. Olu Bajowa, the Jagunmolu of Ikaleland and Ojagbulegun from the source.
” It is a painful thing that Ondo State lost this great man of lofty developmental ideas; it is really sad that nature denied him the opportunity to see his ‘ Redeemed Agenda’ blossom till the end of his tenure, but that notwithstanding, it is worthy of note that Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has done his path so glowingly that his series of achievements will become illumination and his compendium of achievement will become reference point in Ondo State politics.
” I particularly commiserate with the Olowo of Owo and Olowo in Council over the loss of their illustrious son; I commiserate with the wife, Chief Mrs. Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu and the children who must be at the receiving end of our prayers now , particularly that God Almighty should grant them the courage to bear the irreparable loss of their patriarch,” Her Royal Highess, Princess Oluyemi Bajowa added.
