Member , House of Representatives, and Chairman House committee on the Army, Hon Umande Kwewum has asserted that there is no rift, crisis or disagreement between the Hausa/Fulani cattle herders and farmers in any part of the country.
He made this assertion over the weekend at Lagos, while responding to reporters.
Hon Kwewum reiterated that the killings in Benue and Taraba states were the handiwork of armed militias hiding under the garb of herdsmen to perpetrate crisis and cause ethnic cum religious strife along the fault line of the Nigerian state.

Hon Kwewum noted that the settler cattle herders and the land owners in the Tiv nation had lived peacefully with one another, noting that it calls for concern now that it is alleged that the outrageous murder of over 70 neighbours of Tue herdsmen were axed to death allegedly by Fulani men.

Kwewum why noting that it was not beyond the capacity of the IS west African cells to have infiltrated Nigeria with a major purpose of decimating the population and causing distrust among land owners and settlers of Benue and Taraba communities.
Kwemu therefore charged the security apparatus to rely heavily on intelligence gathering in smoking out these itinerant agents of decay, bloodletting and sudden death.
