Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State are pushing back against reports suggesting the party’s state executive committee has been dissolved, insisting the structure remains intact and operational.

State Chairman Mr. Dupe Aisida addressed the issue on Friday, responding to a statement reportedly linked to Umaru Bature, described as a factional National Organising Secretary of the party, which claimed the state leadership had been replaced with a caretaker committee.

According to Aisida, the alleged directive did not follow the party’s recognised communication channels and was never formally conveyed to the state chapter, a development he said has created confusion among members and supporters.

He maintained that the existing executive committee continues to function across the state’s 18 local government areas, stressing that the chapter remains focused on maintaining its organisational structure despite internal challenges facing the party nationally.

Aisida also reiterated that the party intends to continue its role as a strong opposition force in the state, holding the ruling party accountable and preparing for future political contests.

The chairman noted that recent elections in different parts of the country have shown the PDP remains politically relevant, expressing confidence that the party will overcome its current setbacks.

He therefore called on party members and the public to disregard speculation about leadership changes and remain committed to the stability and unity of the party as it works to resolve internal issues.
