Osun Guber poll: Olabode sues for calm, peaceful poll
All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain, Mr.Olabode Omoyele has enjoined the major Stakeholders of state politics in Osun State to stick to the terms of the peace agreement they have aligned with, stressing that all eyes are on The Sunshine State.
Olabode in an official statement made available to newsmen said it is trite to state at this material time that nobody’s blood is worth anybody’s victory, maintaining that while it is commendable that all the Guber candidates across party lines have dotted the line for a peaceful election, they should consolidate their resolve by reining in their supporters against going violent.
“Osun state is critical to national development as it is the state of natural resources, and different political parties want to lay claim to the Abeere State House for the next four years but individual ambition should not be the reason people are butchered like cows, incarcerated for a long time while not being lucky, some get killed.
“The news of killings and intimidation coming out of Osun State is condemnable and very regrettable because there is no political agenda that portends positivity enough to want to make anybody snuff life out of a fellow human being. I want to plead that the bloodletting over the political tension in Osun should stop forthwith and the gladiators should remember that they can only govern the living not the dead,” Olabode stressed.
He noted that beyond the strategy and politics of winning any election, political brigandage that is sustained before , during and after election will not only demarket the polity but will make the people be like folks excitedly warming up to the brutish nature of early men.
“As a concerned Nigerian, a politician and fan of good governance, I sue for peace, calm and peaceful election in Osun State,” Olabode pleaded.
The Osun state Governorship election holds coming Saturday 15th August,2026.
