While on the quest to empower women, the Face of Beauty and Bride 2021 edition was an all round entertainment ranging from musicals to dancing even as members of the audience earnestly prayed their contestant win.
The event had more in stock for the attendees aside the comfy seats, and the beautiful scenery at The Dome that awed the audience who sat in company of seven or eight at a table with anticipatory desires to see the 2021 face of Beauty and Bride. The first edition of Beauty and Bride was July 16, 2017, second edition August 2019, and now this edition of the Face of Beauty and Bride saw Miss. Bunmi Babalola( Miss. Sapphire) emerged its winner going home with the star price of a car and other juicy benefits.
For this edition, the applicants were Initially
25 ladies contesting for a crown, then 22 after voting and they were later screened to 12 contestants who had to stay for a mandatory camp.
The twelve courtesy ladies represented their respective States of Ondo, Ogun, Imo, Anambra, Rivers, Edo, Cross Rivers, Delta, Plateau, Taraba, and Kano and they went through a thorough scrutiny that made them affect the air of conviction that they were deserving of the crown before the final verdicts.
BAB for me is basically a platform for the empowerment of the female gender, and a medium to provide support and promotion for them. And this fact was basically reiterated when Mrs. Fransica Onyinye Ogunlade, the convener spoke at her welcome address. Hear her: “We actually have a vision to empower 1000 women in In the next five years , these women will be going out to empower more women within the next one year.” The star studded event had major highlights which included series of entertaining aspects that wowed the audience and kept them standing at intervals to applaud.
The very first part of the entertainment was the rendition of pantomime by D xpression, which was beautifully presented by a group of 5 dancers. The dancers mimed to the song “lucky ones bridge” and the frantic mood threw the audience into an enervating moment.
Also, it was an exciting visage when the ladies showed their cultural dance steps, whirling to moves of the zones they had represented.
An initial peripatetic eye had to be steady to preen a contestant representing a zone as she accurately dug their dance well.
Another exciting moment was during the rendition of the ‘Unity Dance’ where the ladies who wore a pair of black jeans and black round neck polo each verved to a Nigerian hit, ” Your Body.”
Pound of Flesh rapping and the twirls no doubt impressed the audience. Besides, one might be tempted to support another contestant if one was not so uptight about his or her alliegance.
Shortly after this , the 12 contestants stepped gingerly on the stage like peacocks sashaying to a solo rendition from a male artist, Young Oche as he was called.
From the few my eyes would catch, men gawked as the beautiful ladies sashaying perhaps to the solo rendition, the background music , or the innermost joy that thrilled ones heart towards their successes.
And even if I wanted to forget the night in a hurry, how would I forget the electrifying opera performance. I couldn’t but observe the hall standing still as hands applauded the heavy opera who raised her pitch striking the final note of “climb every mountain.”
And how would I forget the night’s Disk Jockey, DJ Blue Crystal. An elegant lady who was so dexterously doing her thing.
Mind would only ponder on Fransisca’s words that this pageantry like no other is basically a platform for the Nigerian women , giving the Entrepreneur both a voice, recognition and a spectacle for appreciation.
Among the dignitaries who graced the event were The Olubasa of Ifetedo, the Erelu of Ifetedo, clergy amongst whom was Rev. Funke Felix-Adejumo, and the first female SSG to the Ondo State government, Princess Oladunni who was duly represented. These three delectable women also got deserving plaques of honours. It is without no doubt that the night was for the celebration of women and was done entertainingly.
