asks Buhari to rejig security structure .
– Steve Ovirih.
Hon. Victor Kolade Akinjo, Member House of Assembly representing Ilaje / Ese Odo Federal Constituency has identified with Muslim faithful celebrating Eid el Kabir festival, congratulating them over the celebration , which he dscribed as the celebration that harps on selfless giving among the faithful at all times.
In a press statement personally endorsed by the House of Reps member , a copy of which was obtained by thepolity. net , The Vice Chairman , House Committee on Niger Delta, noted that as Muslim faithful , the Eid provides another veritable opportunity for a collective prayer for the growth of Nigeria across all the mosques in the land.
Akinjo urged all the Chief Imams and Ustazs who will lead the Eid cum Rakat prayers to remember Nigeria in their prayers on the Eid Kabir celebration , stressing particularly that Nigeria yearns for growth in every facet of the nation’s economy.
The Itebu-Kunmi born PDP stalwart and Federal Parliamentary said things have unfortunately taken a turn for the worse in the recent time and the ripple effect is felt in the education sector where university lecturers, Colleges of Education lecturers and sister unions in the Ivory towers are locked in labour dispute with Federal Government running into months already with no hope in sight, the economy that is cracking under the heavy weight of fluctuating foreign exchange which is getting a raise virtually every month in the forex market, the challenges with the subsidy removal polemics which has made independent marketers to give a raise to the the liter prices of PMS , Diesel and Kerosene and worst of all , Akinjo said, is the matter of insecurity that is threatening to rip open the underbelly of a once security conscious nation.
In the light of all of these almost insurmountable challenges , Hon. Akinjo averred that Nigeria needs prayers more than ever before.
He added that the Sallah festivity is another avenue for all to sit back and seek the face of Allah for redemption and resuscitation of the nation’s ebbing economy.
Hon. Akinjo advised President Muhammadu Buhari to reach out boldly and alter his security policy by rejigging the security architecture of the country, noting that the attack on the President’s convoy in Katsina followed by the most recent Kuje medium correctional facility break and all the pockets of recurring kidnapping incidents across the country is de marketing the image brand of federal government and for President Muhammadu Buhari to show that he is on top of the game, security must be given a face lift in Nigeria , particularly as another round of General election is approaching in the country.
