Akeredolu rejoices as Most Revd Simeon Borokini becomes Archbishop of Ondo Ecclesiastical Province.

The Governor Of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN has felicitated and Congratulated his Grace, Most Revd Simeon Oluwole Bookini Ph.D for attaining the feat of being elevated to the enviable Position of the Archbishop of Ondo Ecclesiastical Province in the Anglican communion.
Governor Akeredolu made this known at the Special Thanksgiving service organised to mark his Presentation as The Archbishop of Ondo Ecclesiastical Province held at the Diocese of Akure Anglican communion , St David Cathedral, Ijomu, Akure on Thursday 29th September, 2022.
Represented at the occasion by the first female Secretary to Ondo State Government( SSG) Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu, Akeredolu who thanked Most Revd Simeon Borokini, members of the Akure Diocese and the entire Christian family for their prayers during the ill- fated massacre in Owo and recently the passing away into eternal glory of Mama Evang. Grace Akeredolu, seek for the continued support in prayers of the Christendom that God should grant him the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to carry out all that he desires for Ondo State.
Governor Akeredolu urged Archbishop Borokini to remain steadfast, prayerful as always, loving and gospel- filled , saying that it is God alone that has the power to elevate an individual and it has pleased Him to bring the Archbishop to the position at this time.
The Governor said ” It is therefore my prayer that your elevation will bestow more grace and blessing upon you and Christian family, just as God bestowed exceeding grace on our fore- father, Abraham, he shall bestow exceeding grace upon you ”
Arakunrin Akeredolu who urged the Church to keep praying for the Archbishop and his family, added that his Government would look forward for constant support from the Church.
Earlier in his sermon, the retired Archbishop of the Province, Most Revd George Lasebikan who congratulated Most Revd Borokini on his elevation to the position of Archbishop, emphasised the need for independability of a grateful heart in Christianity.
The Cleric who spoke on the Topic ” Attitude of gratitude ” Urged Christians to take a clue from the life of David who always appreciate God no matter the tribulations that came his way.
Most Revd George Lasebikan said ” I join others to congratulate you. You have brought God’s word to life by your elevation as the Archbishop because no man can receive anything except it is given to him from above”
He therefore joined other well wishers to congratulate him while admonishing him to trust in God Almighty and be careful in all his dealings.
The new Archbishop, Most Revd Simeon Oluwole Borokini who appreciated God Almighty for granting him the privilege and opportunity to serve in the capacity, urged his followers in the Ministry to be dedicated to the service of the kingdom of God without expecting an reward from humans, stressing that only God is capable of rewarding each and every one in accordance to the work of their hand.
