Imo Guber Poll: Uzodinma swaps Deputy Governor.

In his bid to win fair and square in the coming Governorship election in Imo State, the incumbent Governor, seeking second term in office, Hope Uzodinma has dealt a new political move by announcing the replacement of his Deputy Governor for the contest with a new Deputy Governorship Candidate.
It will be recalled that Governor Hope Uzodinma had run his first term in office, which will terminate quite soon with Prof. Mrs Placid Njoku as his Deputy Governor and they had enjoyed a peaceful reign in office together.
However, plausibly owing to political exigencies, ecumenical and other varying permutations, Governor Uzodinma on Saturday announced the choice of Mrs. Chinyere Ekomaru as his Deputy Governorship Candidate in the November 11th Governorship contest in the State.
Uzodinma at the public function where the announcement was made told the gathering that he doesn’t have any disagreement whatsoever with his Deputy, Prof. Njoku but for the fact that he has to allow superior political considerations to dictate the tune of things ahead of the Guber race. He assured the public of the continued support of her Deputy Governor whom he said had been briefed of the development.
Governor Hope Uzodinma will be up against Sylvester Ogunewe of the Labour Party and Senator Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party, both formidable political opponents who are eyeing the Imo seat of power.
Imo State has been at the receiving end of the continued demands of the Eastern Security Network ( ESN) and the consequent burning of houses , killings , burning of Police stations and palpable insecurity.
Some of these challenges will confront the Gubernatorial candidates, particularly the incumbent Governor as debates will hurt up towards the Guber election.
