Abodi congratulates Christians, urge moderation at Christmas.

By Steve Ovirih.

The Abodi of Ikale , His Imperial Majesty, Oba George Babatunde Faduyile , Adegun II has felicitated christians as Christmas is celebrated.

Oba Faduyile in his congratulatory statement on Christmas celebration , which he personally endorsed, a copy of which was obtained by thepolity.net , appreciated God Almighty who has made it possible for the celebration to hold in the ambience of peace across Nigeria.

He noted that the season of Christmas draws our attention to Christ’s love for humanity as the son of God did not count it as unworthy to put off his grand essence and divine mystery by allowing a mortal though the blessed virgin Mary to beget him.

The monarch noted that the great lesson of Christ’s birth is seen in the redemption of man from sins and damnation , hence the need to celebrate and rejoice that God deemed it fit to give humanity the second chance of reuniting with God the father through the birth of his only begotten son.

The Abodi of Ikaleland reiterated the need for moderation as the special feast of Christ’s birth is celebrated , calling for caution as he noted that any excess revelry would have reduced the significance of Christ’s birth to mere merry making.

He challenged christians to think deeply on the uniqueness of the birth of Christ and make out of it the lesson of turning over a new leaf and serving Christ with more duty bound commitment while keeping to his laws as enshrined in The Bible.

The revered monarch equally tasked christians to follow the path of righteousness which he said is the only pathway that makes nations great.
