Agagu rallies constituents’ support for Akeredolu’s second term bid

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Ondo State, Pastor Femi Agagu has embarked on a sensitization and hope renewal movement among (APC) party faithfuls in Ondo South Senatorial District.
This was with the view of building stronger party loyalty and commitment to the second term ambition of the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN. The first leg of this lofty party rebuilding exercise was at Okitipupa Constituency One. As a community leader, Pastor Femi Agagu is not unaware of the fact that the people of his constituency, nay Ondo South will look up to him as a staunch party leader and stakeholder for direction as the governorship election approaches.
A three-man delegation, comprising of his Special Assistant (Political), Dr. Yomi Akinrinmade, Member House of Assembly, Okitipupa Constituency 1, Hon. Akintomide Akinrogunde and the Special Assistant to the Governor on youth mobilization (Ondo South) Mr.Gbologe Olufunmi Alex carried out the assignment on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner & Leader of the party in Okitipupa LGA. The team met with all APC Ward Chairmen, all serving Supervisors and five opinion leaders from each of the seven Wards constituting Okitipupa Constituency (1). The meeting comprised of elders, women and youth constituents.

While delivering the Commissioner’s message to the forum, his Special Assistant (Political), Dr. Yomi Akinrinmade thanked the invitees for their unalloyed support for the party and the administration of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN especially since the past three years when the Governor came on board. He said the meeting is essentially to appreciate all party members in the constituency, to know their plights and to let them know that they are not forgotten and will never be forgotten in the administration of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu . He said the same meeting will be held in all the constituencies within the South Senatorial District in the weeks ahead and the honourable Commissioner will mostly attend in person.
He discouraged factionalisation of APC as Pastor Agagu’s philosophy is one APC and that Akeredolu is a God-given leader that deserves the support of all genuine APC party members. He encouraged them to continue to be faithful to the party, stressing the need for them to continue to work for the re-election bid of Gov. Akeredolu.
Dr. Akinrinmade, speaking for the delegation, further charged the ward chairmen, supervisors and other party leaders at the meeting to see themselves as noble leaders who must prove their loyalty to the party and the incumbent Governor of the State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN in consideration of the unprecedented development projects his administration had brought to the south senatorial District of the State.
The delegation reiterated the commitment of Gov Akeredolu to the development of the third tier of government as well as his efforts towards the inclusion of party faithfuls at grassroot level to the development process of our dear State. He noted that Governor Akeredolu has interest in the people of the grassroots whom the supervisors represent, hence the need for them to reach out to their people to spread the gospel of a stronger constituent-government integration at the grassroots level. He encouraged them not to relent in their good works as better days are ahead for Ondo State. He said it is the recognition of their unfettered commitment to the Party’s vision that informed the Commissioner’s gesture of convening the meeting. He told them that the main essence is that they should go back to their respective units and Wards to preach this
gospel of party loyalty and unalloyed support for Mr. Governor’s second term bid. He also told the forum that APC is one under Mr. Governor and that questionable intra-party groupings that can cause division in the party should be avoided so that the opposition will not capitalize on it and cause divisive tendencies among the Party’s rank and file.
In the same vein, Honourable Akinrogunde appreciated the people in the meeting for their doggedness and hardwork that had kept the APC as one indivisible family under Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. He prayed that God will reward their good labour of love for the party. He however emphasized that any divided loyalty to the party and the good work of Mr. Governor will not be condoned. He said, evaluating the performance of the current government in all ramifications of governance, infrastructural development, human capital developments among others are the reasons why Arakunrin Akeredolu deserves everybody’s unflinching support, including the opposition parties . He advised them to remain one indivisible entity under the leadership of Pastor Femi Agagu in Okitipupa LGA and by extension the State Governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu.
Mr Gbologe Alex in his own remarks reminded the forum of the achievements of Arakunrin Akeredolu within his three years of governance. He emphasized the rapid revival of Ondo state University of Science and technology, OSUSTECH from its eight years doldrums, the magnificent Ore flyover bridge, the first in Ondo state, Okitipupa bypass, massive renovation of primary schools and junior secondary schools, equipment for removal of water hyacinth at Ilaje & Eseodo etcetera, as well as the commendable number of political appointees from the south. He said all these and the many that are to come are enough to make us give our total support for Mr. Governor.
Those present in the meeting unanimously pledged total loyalty to the party and total commitment to the second term bid of Mr. Governor. They however pleaded that more empowerment opportunities should be accorded the party faithfuls at the grassroots level. The meeting which was segmented into three sessions on the first and second day ended with pomp and pageantry with party faithfuls pledging their unalloyed support for Governor Akeredolu’s second term ambition.
It will be recalled that the Ondo state Governor has declared his intentions to run for second term in office and preparation are already in top gear among the Governor’s foot soldiers across the State to make this genuine ambition a smooth-sail reality.
