Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has called on the people of Ode Omi in Irele Local Government Area, Ondo south senatorial district to give their royal father, the Odogbo of Omi all the necessary support that will make his reign record memorable success.

The State Governor gave this advice at Omi during the coronation ceremony and presentation of Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to the new Odogbo of Omi, Oba Akintelure Olorunsola.

The colourful event had in attendance prominent Royal Fathers in Ondo south senatorial district, politicians and distinguished personalities from far and near.

The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Budget and Development planning, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan congratulated Oba Olorunsola Akinyelure and charged him to rule over his people with the fear of God. While presenting the Staff of Office on behalf of Governor Akeredolu, Pastor Igbasan said the Ondo state Governor has focused development in the Southern senatorial district , part of which is the first bridge in Ondo state constructed at Ore, noting that the development plan that was in the offing which is now made manifest in the district is seen in the government’s effort at turning Ore to an industrial hub. Governor Akeredolu asked the people of the community to vote en mass for his candidacy and his party APC in the October 10th Governorship election , promising further development for the interior of the southern senatorial district in his second term.

Responding, the Odogbo of Omi, Oba Akinyelure promised on behalf of his people to return the Governor’s favor at the poll. He however charged the South West Governors to work towards genuine federalism , stressing that what’s on ground in Nigeria is a pseudo federalism that tilts towards Unitarianism and it doesn’t bode well for restructuring and robust growth of the component states of the Federation.
