Ayeka Ule Day 2019: Regent of Ayeka solicits govt support for development in her community

The kingdom of Ayeka in Ondo south senatorial district has celebrated the second edition of the community’s socio cultural day amidst pomp and fanfare. The celebration which held at the Government Field, Ayeka in Okitipupa Local Government area on Saturday, the 16th of November, 2019 attracted dignitaries from far and near as well as major Ayeka stakeholders from within and beyond the community.
The Biripo Maestro, High Chief Omotola Emaye was also on ground with his band , providing a lush mix of entartaining Biripo lyrics to serenade the atmosphere.
In her speech at Ayeka Ule Day, the Regent of Ayeka, Princess Oluyemi Bajowa thanked the people of Ayeka for their support and appreciated the chiefs for their immense cooperation. She noted that Ayeka Day is a socio cultural brand that hopes to bring sons and daughters of Ayeka Ule together as a forum through which development ideas can be raised and sustained.
Princess Oluyemi Bajowa appealed to the government of Ondo state to consider helping the people of Ayeka in solving the basic challenge of the gully which has almost disconnected Ayeka from the major entry point into the community. She said the ditch has become an eyesore , calling on both the state and the local government to come to the rescue of the people of Ayeka in this regard as the entire route where the gully lies has become impassable for vehicles and pedestrians.
The Regent charged guests and the good people of Ayeka Ule to key into the lofty development agenda of
this lofty dream.
“We have it in mind to complete the Ultra – Modern Civic center here at Ode Ayeka and as we celebrate the second edition of Ayeka Ule Day, we will appreciate your generous contribution to the completion of this lofty dream as there will be a fund raiser to this effect,” Princess Bajowa said. She appreciated all the people who had come from far and near to celebrate Ayeka Ule Day.
The Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government council, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, in his remark praised the leadership role of the Regent of Ayeka, Princess Oluyemi Bajowa, noting that the people of Ayeka are blessed with a development conscious and hard-working regent. Omo’ba Adesanya assured that the gully challenge shall be looked into and tabled for consideration at the appropriate quarters, even as he thanked the people of Ayeka for their cooperation at the last environmental sanitation day. He noted that his administration is very particular about ensuring that the town is clean and safe from the challenges that unhealthy environment can bring.
While delivering his address, Gen. Olu Bajowa (Rtd), The Jagunmolu of Ikale Land and Ojagbulegun of Ayeka Kingdom, noted that he felt honored to have been invited as the chairman of the historic and unique event of the second Ayeka Ule Day and launching of forty million naira fund raising ceremony for the completion of the ultra modern civic center, Ode Ayeka.
While talking on the significance of the launching, Gen .Bajowa said, ” it is significant because I was a party to the first launching of this laudable project , when His Royal Majesty, Oba Fredrick Bode Ayelomi of blessed memory , was on the throne and now, my wife , Her Royal Highness, Princess (Barr) Oluyemi Bajowa, is occupying the throne of her forefathers ,as the Regent of Ayeka kingdom .
” I am Proud , not only as a son -in-law in Ayeka Kingdom ,but principally as the Ojagbulegun of Ayeka kingdom ,the source of Lumures which is the most populous clan in Ikale Land,” Gen Bajowa maintained.
However, the Jagunmolu of Ikale Land said the fact that Ayeka has so many prominent sons and daughters is yet to translate to development in Ayeka Kingdom, noting that the launching of forty million naira fund towards the completion of the ultra modern civic center in the town is no doubt a laudable beginning and a step in the right direction for the progress and sustainable development of Ayeka Kingdom.
” It is therefore commendable that the Regent of Ayeka kingdom ,who doubles as the promoter of Iye -Lumure Bajowa Foundation , is spear heading the establishment of Awawa FM 94.1 here at Ayeka Ule , which the ground breaking and foundation Laying ceremony will follow later today, with outreach and offices at Oba Bo’de Ayelomi House in Ayeka here, Iye Lumure House at No 49 Erinje Road, Okitipupa,and Iye Lumure center at Gen.Olu Bajowa way, Igbotako – Osooro,” Bajowa added .
Gen. Bajowa while appealing to all and sundry to generously donate for the completion of the ultra modern civic center, called on all Lumure sons and daughters home and in the Diaspora to emulate the Regent by attracting development to Ayeka Kingdom. The General said, ” we the Lumure descendants should see Ayeka Ule as our source and indeed our Jerusalem or Mecca and to contribute to its development so as to turn Ayeka Ule to an Eldorado in Ikale Land.”
Earlier the Ayeka ancestral spirits and masquerades (Imales) had danced to Chief Omotola’s Biripo lyrics drawing applause from the crowd as their uniform rhythmic dance steps and acrobatic display added color to the event.
Women group and age grades were also on ground in uniform wares and equally trooped out to pay homage to the Regent and other Obas in attendance.
At the fund raising , the chairman of the occasion, Gen. Olu Bajowa donated #1.5 million towards the completion of the ultra modern civic center as other generous donations were taken.
A major highlight of the event was the 2019 Miss Ayeka beauty pageant context . Three Ayeka damsels keenly contested for the crown . Miss Omolola Lebifo , a school leaver, prospecting for university admission emerged winner of the pageant and was crowned Miss Ayeka with a #20, O00 cash award from the Regent, Princess Bajowa.
