Democracy has come to stay in Nigeria – Dayo Faduyile.
– Steve Ovirih.
The Ikoya born immediate past President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and prominent APC Chieftain, Prince Prof. Dayo Faduyile has noted that Democracy has come to stay in Nigeria and with the concerted efforts of the stakeholders, the necessary requirements to strengthen the Democratic process in Nigeria will not be difficult to achieve.
Prof . Faduyile gave this indication yesterday at his polling unit at Ikoya/ Igbinsin Oloto ward.
Prof Faduyile who had a brief chat with thepolity.net having cast his vote, said the election process was not only devoid of rancor and infighting, but there has been adequate voter education so much that the electorate simply conducted themselves in appropriate manners. He noted that the Covid 19 safety protocols were adhered to and it was quite noteworthy and praise worthy.
Prof. Faduyile added that the only challenge to the success of the electoral process is pre and post election violence, stressing that in the Nigeria of the 21st century , the political narrative should shift from the angle of perpetrating violence or constituting nuisance. He said as far as the history of our political development is concerned , there is the need for a paradigm shift.
