Dr. Dayo Faduyile, ex NMA President vaccinated against Covid-19.

– Steve Ovirih.
The immediate past President of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) , Dr. Francis Adedayo Faduyile has added to the list of Nigerians who have taken the COVID- 19 Vaccine.

The Associate Professor of Forensic Medicine took the jabs yesterday in Lagos .

Faduyile reiterated the fact that the gains of taking the vaccine outweighs the risk of not taking it at all, appealing to Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity provided by government geared towards ensuring that Nigerians are vaccinated in large numbers against the virus which ravaged the globe all through last year.
Asked of his reaction to the development in some part of Europe where taking the virus has been temporarily halted, the medical expert has this to say:
Not banned, suspended is the word.

However, do you know how many people who die from penicillin injection every year? and yet it has not been banned. People can develop reaction to any drug, but in medicine we look at the benefits against the side effects, and if the benefits outweighs the risks such drugs continue to be used.
Millions of people have been vaccinated and the reported adverse reaction is still less than 0.1%, can we then say the drug is not good for use.

In actual sense, there has not been convincing evidence of the adverse reaction in connection with the vaccine. It is at best at causal level
Assuaging the fear in some quarters about the effect of the vaccine, Dr. Faduyile clarified that there has not been any convincing evidence of the adverse reaction in connection with the vaccine and if anything at all, it is at best at causal level. While charging Nigerians to show good cause towards their civic responsibility by taking the vaccine in their respective locality, Faduyile noted that in Medicine consideration is given to the benefits against the side effects and if the benefits far outweigh the side effects such drugs cannot be discontinued.
