Succor has come the way of the widows and indigents in Ikale Land from Nigerians in The Diaspora of the Ikale extraction who are based in The United Kingdom and Ireland. The group under the leadership of Mrs Kemi Atijosan has distributed patronage and support in kind to people across the major Ikale communities of Ikoya, Irele, Ajagba, Erinje and Ayila all in Ondo South Senatorial District.

The distribution of the palliatives, Mrs. Atijosan , who spoke with thepolity.net from her base in Europe, said was the group’s modest way of identifying with their People at home in this period when the world is just smarting out of the grip of the Coronavirus pandemic. She noted that the palliatives are meant for the widows and the aged as people who belong in this bracket could be worst hit by the economic consequences of the COVID – 19 phenomenon.

In the Ikale communities that the palliative train reached, the beneficiaries , most of them aged people, could not hide their joy as they prayed for the donors and appreciated the gift. Mama Akinlalu , an Octogenarian at Erinje said the givers of the palliative will be blessed with long life and they will not live their old age in lack and want.

A widow who also benefitted from Ayila, who didn’t want her name in print , was full of gratitude to God and to the Ikale group in The Diaspora. While praying for members of the group, the woman said there is poverty in the land and she will appreciate if the group can assist her children with Education Fund as the burden of sending her children to school since the demise of her husband has not been easy for her.

Among the relief materials distributed are foodstuffs such as rice, beans and vegetable cooking oil.

Reacting to this kind gesture , The Abodi of Ikale Land, Oba Babatunde George Faduyile thanked the group for deeming it fit to give back to their People at home. Oba Babatunde Faduyile said the group from United Kingdom and Ireland maybe far away from home but their mind is particular about their homestead and their concern for the welfare of their People at home in this trying times is highly commendable.

The Royal Father who expressed his delight at the very thoughtful gesture of the group prayed God to continue to keep them and bless them in all their endeavor.

The Executives of the group who made possible the success of the palliative distribution programme are Mrs. Kemi Atijosan, the group President, Mr. Steve Awotale, Vice President; Pastor Femi Ayetiran , the General Secretary and Sunny Awotula, the social and welfare officer of the noble group.
