EndSARS Protest : Prof Faduyile commiserates with Okitipupa people, condemns burning of government facilities.

– Steve Ovirih.

Prof. Francis Adedayo Faduyile, Ondo State APC Chieftain has expressed his commiseration with the people of Okitipupa over the wanton destruction of property and Government facilities in the town last week occasioned by the EndSARS Protest.

Prof. Faduyile, a Prince of Abodi of Ikale Land in a statement made available to thepolity.net said there was no level of protest against Police brutality that should warrant the wilful destruction of government facilities such as was experienced across Okitipupa Local Government, describing the development as unfortunate and avoidable.

His words, ” my heart goes out to the residents of Okitipupa who had been made to experience the harrowing destruction of public facilities by hoodlums who had hijacked the EndSARS Protest in the town. Once again , we have all been psychologically battered by this shameful show of gross lack of indiscipline and a sense of decency by faceless hoodlums who hid behind the course of EndSARS Protest.

” It is unfortunate that in the entire Ondo South, it’s only our youths in Okitipupa who went on a maddening rampage and indulged the orgy of destructive violence.

” While we thank God that no life was lost, it must be reiterated that wilful destruction of Private residence of people who had worked hard enough to put a structure together in their country home and the burning of government facilities will only end up underdevelop our community and put us in bad light as people whose youths loath infrastructural growth since the few Government presence we have, they have rased to ashes in an orgy of unprecedented violence.”

While calling for calm in the town, Prof. Faduyile called on parents to begin again the process of re -orientating their children , stressing that what has happened has shown a huge failure of orientation in the land.

It will be recalled that Prof. Dayo Faduyile had earlier called on Nigerian youths in a special release not to overreach themselves and not to allow the peaceful protests to be hijacked by irate youths who had other motives beyond the EndSARS Protest.
