Gideon Okedayo murder: ODSG commiserates with Osustech, deceased family

The Ondo state Governror, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, has expressed the condolences of the state government and the good people of Ondo state to the management , staff and students of the Ondo state University of science and technology, Osustech, Okitipupa over the nasty kidnapping and murder of the university Don , Prof. Gideon Okedayo of the Dept. Of Mathematics.

The Governor also commiserated with the deceased family, praying God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of the academic.

The condolence message was delivered on behalf of the Governor by the state Commissioner for Education, science and technology, Mr Femi Agagu today as the commissioner and his entourage paid a visit to the university and to the home of the late Professor Okedayo.

Mr Agagu described Prof Okedayo as a complete gentleman and a pastor, stressing that he is confident the deceased has gone to be with the Lord.

The University vice Chancellor who was in the commissioner’s team to Prof Okedayo’s house said the university will miss the Professor as he was a stabilizing factor in the University. The VC said the deceased was an easy going person and he would chip in jokes to douse tension anytime difficulty arose.

Prof Gideon Okedayo, who was the Dean of the school of Post Graduate studies of the university was kidnapped on his way to his home town Igarra in Edo state late last week and when he was found, he had already died .

A visit to the university showed the pains of his untimely death as offices were locked while his colleagues worn mournful looks.
