As the governorship election in Osun state approaches with approximately two weeks to the poll, an advice has gone out to the outgoing Governor of Osun state, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola to the effect that rather than projecting another candidate who will continue his modulated salary regime in the state, he should first endeavor to pay up to date the arrears of salary his government is owing the civil servants of the state.
This piece of advice was given by the Social Democratic party governorship candidate, Mr. Iyiola Omisore at the SDP gubernatorial campaign rally at Osogbo, the state capital.
The Ife high Chief said it is really ridiculous that Governor Aregbesola whose party can afford to expend billions of naira on election PR, bill boards and the media can in the same breadth decide to hold the entire state’ work force Ransome by not paying their salaries up-to-date.
Why appealing to the people of Osun not throw away their votes for those who benefitted from impoverishing the state workers, Iyiola Omisore noted that power will shift in the Osun Poll because the people have seen through the lies of the incumbent Governor.
The national Chairman of the party, Chief Oluyemisi Falaye advised Osun electorates not to sell their votes as the so called big wigs of the ruling party might want to influence them by dangling financial bait before them to make them compromise their conscience on election day.
Chief Falaye said Omisore, the SDP candidate is more focused on governance as he has taken his time to study the mis governance going on in the state requires collective effort of all .
