Idepe High school holds talk/ Debate as school marks 40th anniversary.

Idepe High school , Idepe Okitipupa is marking its fourth decade of existence this week. The 40th anniversary of the school started on Monday, the 18th of March with a procession round the town.
The walk round Okitipupa town saw all the students of the school and the Principal as well as staff of the school in attendance , while the students showed excitement over the success of the school in the last forty years.
[3/19, 7:36 PM] Steve Ovirih Glo: The school hall was filled to the brim on the second day, 19th of March as a seasoned administrator and chairman Ancopss Okitipupa, Pastor Gbegudu held a talk on ” the influence of peer pressure on students of secondary school”.
Pastor Emmanuel Gbegudu made it clear that peer group influence to a great extent determines how students behave and how far they would go in life.
He charged scool s to establish counselling units where students can seek wise counsel about their career and acquire moral and sound guidelines about their academic prospect.

Pastor Gbegudu warned students to be wary of peer influence which could portend danger for their career prospect, noting that when a child is badly influenced, it becomes a huge minus for the society.
Two schools, Methodist High school, Okitipupa and Stela Maris college debated at the Day two of the week long 40th anniversary of the school. The representatives of both schools slugged it out on the topic , ” parents have more influence on a child than the teachers.
While debaters from Methodist high school spoke in support of the topic , their Stella Maris college counterpart spoke against the topic.
Methodist High school carried the day with 58 points , while Stella Maris college followed on their heel with 42 points.
The Principal of the school, Mr Emmanuel Ogunga, earlier in his remark said the school has come a long way and has produced a lot of successful alumni who are doing the school proud in their respective career, adding that forty years journey in the life of a community school calls for celebration and rolling out of the drum.
