In its bid to contribute to stimulating the interest of Ikale students in their educational pursuit, the umbrella body of Ikales who are based in Abuja , Ikale Progressives Association (IPA) under the Chairmanship of Barr. Akin Arikawe , OON, has rolled out a 4- week tuition free summer tutorial for students across Ikale nation. The free Summer Tutorial held at Idepe High School, Idepe Okitipupa , Manuwà Memorial Grammar School, Iju- Odo, Layelu High School, Ode – Aye and Comprehensive High School. Ode Irele, simultaneously.
Services of experienced public school teachers were deployed to handle the programme and students who were thirsty for learning took advantage of the educational patronage freely provided by IPA.
At the ground finale of The Summer Class which held at Idepe High School , Idepe – Okitipupa and Manuwà Memorial Grammar School Iju Odo on Thursday , 8th September as well as Layelu High School , Ode Aye and Comprehensive High School , Ode Irele on 9th September , It was a celebration of cash awards and certificate of excellent performance for the students who attended the holiday classes and who showed traces of outstanding brilliance.
Jegun of Idepe – Okitipupa , Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye was physically present alongside his chiefs at the event and in his speech. the Idepe- Okitipupa monarch thanked IPA Abuja for being pan- Ikale in their progressive deliberations . While appreciating them for showing concern for the young ones who are the future beacon of hope of Ikaleland , the royal father noted that the summer class has no doubt sown a seed of preparedness in the mind of the students ahead of the new academic session.
Also speaking at the event. the Retired Commissioner of Police , Barr Otaibayomi Akeremale , who represented the Chairman of the Abuja based Association , noted that education is key and Ikale Progressives Association is particular about its desire to see Ikale students become outstanding and successful in their academic pursuit.
Chief David Adetuyi, Abuja based finance expert and Chartered Accountant of repute, also a strong member of IPA advised the Ikale students to take their studies seriously adding that the rate young people are losing interest in education. and quality certification call for concern.
Adetuyi added that while the deluded ones have turned ” education is a scam ” into a mantra, the truth is that the only assured promise to a better future is quality certification.
The host principals across the four host schools were awarded a certificate of honour by IPA in recognition of their contribution to the success of the programme and their support for quality education in Ikaleland.
The Oniju Of Iju Odo , Oba Festus Olumoyegun in his address at Iju Odo challenged the students not to settle for the less in life, noting that all the members of IPA are successful people because they didn’t handle education with levity.
Over all best students across the four venues the summer coaching exercise held were handsomely rewarded with support fund meant for the payment of their registration for WAEC/ NECO examination .
