Katsina gov dissolves all political appointments by predecessor

Tamarauemi Ebimini

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, yesterday, announced the dissolution of all political appointments in the state.

Radda made the disclosure in a statement issued to newsmen by Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Dangiwa.

The announcement followed rumours that some political appointees under former Governor Aminu Masari’s administration were still operating from their offices within and outside Government House.

It was learnt that Masari, whose tenure ended May 29, did not formally announce disengagement of political appointees under his administration.

It was also gathered that some of the political appointees were hoping the new government would renew their appointments, since they all belonged to the same ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

But in the statement, the governor directed that all political appointees hand over affairs of their offices to the most senior director in their Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
