A group within the Peoples Democratic Party claims comments by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike have exposed a plot to destabilize the opposition. The PDP professionals say his recent media chat reveals external efforts to cause internal conflict.
The Conference of Professionals in the PDP stated that Wike’s remarks confirm challenges in building support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election. They argue tensions within their party are being fueled from outside.
The group’s coordinator, Barr. Obinna Nwachukwu, said Wike’s talk of PDP leadership matters proves recent party disputes are not organic. They point to this as evidence of political interference.
The statement connects Wike’s comments to ongoing PDP troubles, including court cases and the sealing of the party’s national headquarters. The group suggests these issues are part of a larger pressure campaign.
Despite this, the PDP professionals insist their party remains strong and resilient. They state it cannot be derailed by external forces and will focus on internal unity for future elections.
The conference ended by urging public officials to discuss governance, not politics, in media engagements. They say leaders should address policy issues affecting citizens’ daily lives.
