Prince Dokun Faduyile gives back to Alma mater

– Steve Ovirih.

In his bid to appreciate his earliest fount and bedrock of his education, Prince Dokun Faduyile has paid a scheduled visit to the Primary school he attended , St John’s RCM Primary School, Broad Street, Okitipupa, where he presented school bags to over 200 pupils of the school.

The presentation of the school bags to all the learners from Basic Primary one to six took place at the assembly ground during the morning devotion on Wednesday, the 20th November. The donor equally made available for the teachers ‘ a thank you souvenir’.

The students burst into jubilations when they were told that an old student of the school has come to present them school bags.

While addressing the pupils, Prince Faduyile, a United States based Electrical Electronics Engineer, said he was a pupil in Primary one A and his class teacher was Mr. Awoleye, a thoroughly bred educator, who taught him and his class mates how to read and write and how to juggle numbers in Arithmetic. ” I want you all to pay attention to your teachers and be of good behavior because if you learn and not play, there is no limit to the height you will reach in life,” Prince Dokun Faduyile counselled the pupils of his Alma mater.

In her reaction the school’s Head Teacher, Mrs. Justina Ojutemeden thanked the donor and described him as a well bred royal blue blood, whom the school and the society are very proud of. She noted that Prince Faduyile is a person who shows appreciation and for people like him greater height is assured.

Speaking on behalf of the pupils of the school, the senior prefect boy, Master Akinmosin Gbenga thanked the donor for the great gesture and prayed God to continue to bless him.

Dr.Joseph Monehin who accompanied the donor, while chatting with thepolity.net noted that Prince Dokun Faduyile giving back to his primary school is a desirable effort which is a singular show of appreciation to the first fount of knowledge from which he drank in life. Dr Monehin noted that the Public Primary schools around have a high concentration of the children of less than average parents and to bridge the equity divide, both private individuals of means and government should pay more than a passing attention to the welfare of the pupils of public primary schools. ” I have seen here today pupils who have come to school in bare foot, some have no uniform, some have neither bags nor books. So the donation of bags to all the pupils by Dokun Faduyile is a very welcome development,” Dr.Monehin enthused.

The donor , Prince Dokun Faduyile in an interview session said he felt the urge to give back to his Alma mater, hence the humble gesture of providing all the pupils with school bags. ” My schooling here was quite memorable and this was where it all started from, so I just felt I should return here and cater to some need of the pupils. My visit here also gives me an opportunity to do a basic need assessment of the school and know where and how to come in for assistance,” Prince Faduyile noted. He admonished the old students of the school to always imbibe the culture of giving back to their alma mater, the foundation of their success.
