– Awotula Temidayo.
Management of Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board under the leadership of Princess Oladunni Odu has paid a scheduled visit to the Head Teachers of public Primary schools in Akure North Local govt Council. The “SUBEB meet its teachers” parley held at the Iju town hall and in attendance beside the SUBEB top executives were the Chairman of Akure North Local govt, Mr . Festus Ogbesetuyi, the local govt Vice Chairman, Hon.Adebusola, Education Secretary of Akure north, Hon. Femi Oloweree and many others.
In his opening remark, the Education Secretary of the local government appreciated the teachers who have always aligned with the policy of the state government. He noted that the last time he came to campaign among the teachers was during the House of Assembly election and Akure north teachers did not disappoint him. He said his bosses at SUBEB have come to advertise the candidacy of the indefatigable Governor of Ondo State and charged the teachers to hold firm their belief in the next level agenda of Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu.
On the entourage of Princess Odu were his two full time commissioners: Princess Funmi Brown, Full Member 1 and Hon Tayo Fayanju, Full Member 2.
Hon Fayanju counseled the Akure north teachers
north teachers to count their blessings under Gov Akeredolu and give him their votes at the appropriate time on the 10th of October, 2010. He noted that the Government that is on the verge of activating the Head master – General policy for the primary school teachers is a government that should be the darling of SUBEB teachers.
The Executive Chairman of Akure north, Hon. Ogbesetuyi asked the teachers to go and tell at least ten voters the good news of the government of Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. He said it is noteworthy that in Akure north alone, Governor Akeredolu has renovated 41 schools out of the 59 Primary schools in the local government, stressing that the renovation has stimulated teaching and learning exercise among pupils who have very impressionable mind.
The Executive Chairman of Ondo State Universal Education Board (SUBEB), Princess Oladunni Odu told the Akure north teachers that she has brought good news from the Executive Governor of Ondo State, who is known in the public circle as ” the talk and do Governor of Ondo State.” Her description of Gov. Akeredolu as talk and do elicited songs of appreciation from the teachers at the Iju town hall.
” My noble teachers, I have come to sell the candidacy of Arakunrin to you; a very just man, a liberal minded man, who says it and does it. He has revived Universal Basic Education to an enviably functional level in Ondo State and I am bold to tell you he deserves a second term!
” Rather than continue the Mega school project that is quite restrictive in terms of number, Governor Akeredolu indicated support for the modem activated by Gov. Agagu which allows the construction of new Schools in their multiple fold and the renovation of existing ones strewn across the local government. Here in Akure north, out of 59 schools , 41 schools have been renovated and this is far better than a mega school project that costs too much to build and to manage.
” My dear teachers, you can now get to Level 16 on the job and I can assure you that in the second term of Gov Akeredolu, you will get to Level 17 and your designation as Head master- General , which is your earnest desire shall become a reality,” Princess Odu maintained.
Mrs . Wemi Itanmakinde, the Head Teacher of Methodist Primary school , Iju said the teachers are grateful to Mama SUBEB Princess Odu and Governor Akeredolu for the very supportive gesture of Ondo State Governor for Primary school teachers. She said SUBEB has added quality to the teaching exercise in the basic Primary school section and they are going to pay back with their massive votes during the October Guber poll in Ondo State.
