Governor Akeredolu gets super rating among teachers at Ondo/ Ifedore.

The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been rated very high in terms of his commitment to the development of basic primary education in Ondo State. Teachers of public primary schools in Ondo West, Ondo East and Ifedore Local Government Areas of Ondo State gave the Governor a very strong pass mark and a commendable vote of confidence while meeting with the management of Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) yesterday , the 16th of September, 2020.
The SUBEB management led by the Board’s Chairperson, Princess Barrister Catherine Oladunni Odu was on a special visit to three local government areas of Ondo East, Ondo West, Bolorunduro and Ifedore where she conferred with the Head Teachers and touched base with them ahead of the forthcoming Guber poll in Ondo State.
At the Ondo West rally with the Head Teachers which held at the NUT Hall , Okegbala, behind University of Medical Science (UNIMED), Ondo, aside the fact that Princess Odu received a warm reception by the teachers who praised her forthrightness and love for them, the excitement in the air showed that ‘Mama SUBEB’ as Princess Odu is fondly called has the unalloyed support of her teachers.
Education Secretary for Ondo West, Barr. Mathew Bada said while it’s not ‘market day ‘ in Ondo, they have come to market a firebrand product for the teachers. He said the product the SUBEB management has come to market is Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, expressing his confidence that Primary School teachers in Ondo kingdom will not hesitate to identify with this equity brand. ” In Ondo West alone, Governor Akeredolu has constructed 42 new school buildings and renovated 53 other ones. Over a million textbooks were provided across the primary schools in the local government while adequate brain teasing toys were provided for pupils in the basic foundation level of the Primary schools across Ondo West local government area.
” With these lofty Programmes conceptualised and executed by Governor Akeredolu, I present him to you as the candidate, my candidate and our candidate in the October 10th Governorship poll,” Bada added.
Princess Oladunni Odu told the teachers at Ondo West that the government of the day under Gov. Akeredolu has improved the lot of Ondo State Primary School teachers because he believes the primary school teachers are the builders of the future leaders, hence the need to make life comfortable for them and to make the teaching and learning process quite conducive . She noted that massive recruitment of teachers is in the offing, adding that Primary School teachers can now rise to the peak and get to the enviable Level 16, which previous administration could not effect.
Princess Odu noted that as a government that is proactive, COVID -19 prevention seminar has been organised for Primary school teachers across the 18 LGAs in preparation for schools’ reopening. She said Governor Akeredolu has not denied the teachers their promotion as and when due and has even made it possible for inter- cadre transfer process which has warranted the elevation of many a primary school teacher in Ondo State. ” My dear noble teachers , good turn is reciprocal and one good term deserves another. I want you to reciprocate the good turn of Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu by voting him massively on election day in October 10th, 2010.
” You are my constituency and you are honourable people. As people that can tell virtue from vice, I know you will not waste your pearl among the swine. Akeredolu is my Governor, your Governor and our Governor and he is asking you as my own people to give him your votes on election day,” Princess Odu said.
In Ondo East, at the Teachers House in Bolorunduro, Princess Funmi Brown, member of the SUBEB Board charged the teachers to vote for the continuity of class room renovation and building of more classrooms across Ondo State, noting that Gov. Akeredolu will make life more conducive for the teachers.
In his reaction , Comrade Akinsete Sunday, NUT Secretary Ondo said, teachers are not blind, so they know where there bread is buttered. He said Gov. Akeredolu has shown himself a worthy patron and they will show appreciation with their votes come October 10th. Two Head Teachers, Mrs. Oluwole and Mr Ologun while reacting on behalf of their colleagues said their pupils look forward to coming to school every week days because they learn in a renovated structure , a departure from the once upon a time dilapidated structure that was far from being conducive to learning. They said they will vote for Aketi and will see to his second term return.
At Igbara Oke in Ifedore Local Government, SUBEB Board member 2, Hon Tayo Fayanju charged the teachers to vote for Governor Akeredolu , adding that they have not come for assessment and evaluation visit today but have come to canvass votes for the second term bid of the incumbent Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Princess Odu indicated that it was fine that the meeting with the teachers held in a classroom of St. Joseph Primary school, noting that the class room is not only spick- and- span but also boast of ceiling fans. She said Governor Akeredolu’s resolve is to ensure schools are renovated while new ones are built in the hinterlands.
The Executive Secretary for Ifedore , Mr. Taiwo Adegbemiro assured the SUBEB Board that Ifedore teachers will pool their collective votes for Governor Akeredolu so that the good work of the ‘ talk and do ‘ Governor can continue without hitches.
