Member representing Ese Odo/ Ilaje Federal constituency in The House of Representative , Hon Kolade Victor Akinjo has organized a high octane funeral for his father , who died few months back.
The two day event began on Friday, November 10th at Itebu kunmi, Ilaje Local Government, Southern senatorial district of Ondo state, with a christian wake at Late Pa. Michael Olawumi Akinjo’s compound, Itebu Kunmi.
At the well attended burial service for Late Pa . Akinjo which held on Saturday, 11th November at St.Luke’s Anglican Church, Itebu, Bishop of Ilaje Diocese , Rt.Revd Olugbemi congratulated the children of Pa Akinjo for surviving their patriarch, noting that Christians should live everyday baring in mind the consciousness that this world is ephemeral. He advised Christians to be closer to God and act according to God’s dictates.
While talking to Polity.com, Hon. Akinjo said he will miss his father a lot because he was a strong contributory factor to his success in life, adding that his deceased father never abandoned him even when he had challenges as a teenager and student.
After the interment, a sumptuous and colorful reception followed at the field of St.Luke’s , where Late Pa Akinjo’s children hosted their guests. The king of Zion music, Debo Ojubuyi was on ground to supply music to serenade the reception.
Among the guests at the event were the immediate past Governor of Ondo state, Dr. Segun Mimiko, incumbent Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, AD Governorship candidate in the last guber poll in Ondo state, Chief Olusola Oke (SAN), Ondo state PDP Chairman and Former Commissioner for Cooperative ,Chief Faboyede, Hon Michael Omogbehin,Hon. Banji Okunomo and many others.
