Imo Governorship Election: Labour Party candidate Achonu wins polling unit

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Imo State, Athan Achonu, has emerged victorious in his polling unit.

Achonu garnered 197 votes at his polling unit in Umunumo community, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, while the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received only 16 votes.

Three voided votes were recorded. The polling unit had 216 accredited voters who cast their ballots, out of 734 registered voters.

The final results were announced on Saturday by the Presiding Officer, John Asuquo, a serving corps member posted to the LG.
