Princess Odu appears momentarily waiting in the wing to run for the Senate when the seat is eventually declared vacant.Having being no stranger to Political office, Princess Odu in less than two years just completed an official tour of duty as the first female Secretary to Ondo State Government. The SSG is understandably the engine room of Governance who shoulders the day to day services of corporate governance for the Executive.
In an exclusive Christmas Day Media chat with the Lawyer and Politician, she was asked to touch base on her stewardship as the Chairperson of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Ondo SUBEB. The political juggernaut beaming a lasting smile noted that her achievement while holding forte at SUBEB remains enviable , exemplary and unmatched.
Prodded to elucidate , Princess Odu said, ” go and verify from teachers of Primary Schools, they will tell you Odu as SUBEB Chair was a welfarist, a lover of education who was committed to the well-being of the educators.”
Princess Barr. Catherine Oladunni Odu said she had very impressive profile in office as her tenure oversaw very critical reforms in basic education which engendered consolidating on foundational schooling across Ondo State .
Going further, Odu maintained that at SUBEB, she ensured the transformation of public primary schools with over 518 projects that were completed in 228 schools, stressing that these were massive legacy projects that stand the test of time. She noted that she was committed to the construction of new buildings, furniture and perimeter fencing to foster security for both teachers and learners.
She indicated that she was able to secure counterpart funding from the Universal Basic Education Center which was previously unaccessible by previous administration, adding that these funds catered to the construction and renovation of school buildings across Primary schools in Ondo State.
On her Senatorial ambition, she said she has all it takes to continue the Senatorial slot, stressing that her political engagements spanning over three decades of active involvement in politics within and beyond Ondo Stage is her glowing credential.
