Ilaje militants vow to sue FG over non payment of stipend.

– Steve Ovirih.

Niger Delta militants of Ilaje extraction in Ondo State are spoiling for war with Federal Government over the non payment of their monthly stipend.

The ex militants in a statement released to the Press said for the upwards of two years now, the stipend payable to the militants after their disarmament has been stopped and no clear explanation for the stoppage was given by Government.

Comrade Deji who endorsed the release said the Ex militants from Ilaje are giving Federal Government thirty days ultimatum to commence the payment of the said stipend or they will meet in court.

He noted that as people who have embraced peace in their various coastal communities and have been working for peaceful mutual coexistence, Government should not push them beyond the limits of their resolve, stressing that a Government that is rehabilitating bandits and Boko Haram insurgent will be undermining the peace of the once restive Niger Delta area if it continues to ignore the plight of the ex militants.
