President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his intention to work from home, in obedience to the advisory handed him by his medical team.

This indication was given by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed while speaking to the press after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which held on Wednesday, where the President was conspicuously absent for the second time. The Fec meeting was presided over by the Vice president, Yemi Osinbanjo. Sensing that the absence of the President was already generating public interest, Lai Mohammed said the President was absent and had asked his Vice to carry on, on his behalf. He said, President Buhari ‘s team of physicians asked that he should take time off to rest, hence his desire to work from home. “He has asked that all his files be taken to him I the house. He will be working from home from today,” Lai Mohammed maintained.

The information minister however said the Vice president would later brief the President on the outcome of all deliberations.
In a related development Apc Governors, otherwise known as the Progressive Governors forum have thrown their weight behind the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to work from home, adding that there is no law that disagrees with the president’s decision. The body says no lacuna has been created by such intent in as much as he has craved the indulgence of the Federal Executive Council to take time off to rest, a decision based on his Doctors ‘s advice.

The Wednesday Fec meeting led to the approval of #3.8 billion for the lease of fast growing vessels to enhance the Nigerian Maritime Administration and safety Agency (NIMASA) in ensuring optimal execution of its duties on the high sea in the next one year.
Also, #5 billion was approved for the construction of the Economic and Financial Crimes commission (EFCC) headquarters.
