Hannah Spencer, the Green Party MP representing Manchester, on Sunday stormed Wolverhampton to boost the party’s campaign ahead of the May 7 local elections.

Hannah Spencer, a Green Party MP representing Manchester, visited Wolverhampton on 12 April 2026 to support the local Green Party campaign. During her visit, she joined fellow candidates  Adetoyese Anifalaje (St. Peter’s Ward), Harry Singh (Bilston North), Monika Kapoor (Wednesbury South), and Naseem Mohammed (Park Ward).

In her address, Hannah Spencer expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome, noting that this was her first visit to Wolverhampton since her recent election victory. She highlighted the strong sense of unity within the community, emphasising that people from all backgrounds, professions, and cultures share common values  something she believes reflects the core principles of the Green Party.
She encouraged residents to stay engaged and participate in the upcoming 7 May election, stressing that every vote is an opportunity to shape a more inclusive, fair, and forward-thinking local government. She also shared her hope to return and celebrate the community’s progress after the election.
During her visit, Hannah spent time on the ground with the local team, taking part in door-to-door conversations and listening directly to residents’ concerns. This hands-on approach allowed for meaningful discussions about local issues, while also sharing the Green Party’s vision for a more sustainable and community-focused future.
The visit brought renewed energy to the campaign, reflecting growing interest and support for Green candidates across Wolverhampton. Speaking on behalf of St. Peter’s Ward, Adetoyese Anifalaje reaffirmed a commitment to collective and inclusive governance, promising to represent all voices fairly if elected.

As the election approaches, residents are encouraged to consider the ideas and priorities being put forward, and to make an informed choice about the future direction of their community.
